What is your role at LJTP(describe in more detail than just the title)?

My role is the Executive Assistant to the President & Founder of LJTP.  I help manage the Presidents scheduling, purchasing, to-do lists, databases, and various other administrative tasks.  In addition, I help with a variety of other administrative duties to support our Delivery and Operations team.

What did you do prior to joining LJTP?

Prior to starting with LJTP, I was a Stay At Home Mom for 3 years. Before that, I worked at one of the top global recruiting firms as a Customer Support Associate for 7 years.

What drew you to LJTP originally? And how has LJTP changed since?

I received a call from Tim Schumm about an Executive Assistant position.  Having known Tim for many years, I was excited about the opportunity but nervous as I had been out of the workforce for a few years.  Now that I’ve been at LJTP for almost a year, I am so glad I accepted the position.  We are rapidly growing each month and that has been a big change from when I first started – it is so exciting to be a part of this growth!

What is your favorite part about working at LJTP?

LJTP really understands the concept of a work/life balance. Being able to work from home has been a wonderful opportunity for me. My 3-year-old daughter has recently started to pretend to work on her toy laptop alongside of me. I feel it has impacted my kids in a powerful and positive way to be able to watch a parent work periodically throughout the day, and I still have time to play, do drop off and pick up from school. And all of the extra-curricular activities after school.

What is the most challenging part of your job?

While working remotely is truly a blessing, it can also be hard at times (especially with small children at home).  However, as parents, we just figure it out. Also, being virtual doesn’t give me the opportunity to easily walk over to another co-workers desk when you need help with something or want to brainstorm about an idea quickly. Our team does a great job of communicating so I do not feel a loss, it is just different than what I’m used to.

How has LJTP helped you grow personally and professionally?

I received the call about my role at just the right time in my life- I didn’t realize it at the time but being home with the kids for 3 years straight was starting to get to me. I needed something else to focus on other than just being a Mom. I wouldn’t change for the world of course but it was time to put that Mom stress and energy into something else. So personally it has helped me a ton. Working from home has made me grow so much professionally. I truly feel it helps me look outside the box and trust in myself with professional matters that come up. Rather than leaning on someone else.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I love spending time with my family. We love to watch movies, Friday Night Pizza nights! In the warmer months, we love to go on bike rides, take walks, the beach!
