What is your role at LJTP?
I am a Sourcing Specialist at Lucas James. I am responsible for top of the funnel sourcing of passive and active candidates. I am the second arm of a Flex Team, collaborating with the Talent Acquisition Recruiting partner to fulfill client requisitions. My day to day involves, research, prospect identification, outreach, initial screen, and scheduling. Locating skilled prospects is what I do best. It’s all about the hunt!
What did you do prior to joining LJTP?
I was an Engineering Recruiter, working at companies that placed people in the Power and Gas Industry. After the birth of my second, I put myself under a self-imposed maternity leave to take some time and focus on our new family dynamic, unfinished home renovating projects and traveling overseas.
What drew you to LJTP originally? And how has LJTP changed since?
Leadership vision, high energy, enthusiasm and the work from home option. There’s much more to LJTP than a remote recruiting team. It has a great leadership and team in place that’s in it to win it! It has been steadily growing in the past few months and with this trajectory of success that I have witnessed so far, I am confident it will emerge as one of the go-to talent partners in the Chicago Tech community.
What is your favorite part about working at LJTP?
The ability for me to truly blend my work and life, be able to strike that balance and at the same time be trusted by my peers and superiors in the delivery of work performed.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
No two hiring managers are the same, and working on different requisitions exposes you to a variety of personalities and work styles and navigating that to deliver the best service is the ultimate challenge.
How has LJTP helped you grow personally and professionally?
Ever since I started at LJTP my life has become more focused and organized as my time is now finite. I am also working on new and interesting job orders that I was not exposed to before and I am loving it!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Planning our next home improvement project, shopping for said home improvement projects, binge watching Netflix shows with my husband (when we have the time to) or just spending time with the kids.
