What is your role at LJTP (describe in more detail than just the title)?
My job title is Sourcing Specialist. I am partnered with a recruiter and I provide support by finding qualified candidates and also by working with the client to do a targeted search for the best results.
What did you do prior to joining LJTP?
Right before joining LJTP, I was a stay-at-home mom to my 4 kids. I have worked as a recruiter in the past, mostly in healthcare, and I have also been a career counselor giving guidance to job seekers and doing presentations on job search techniques and resume writing.
What drew you to LJTP originally? And how has LJTP changed since?
A neighbor friend of mine works here and was always talking about the flexibility and the amazing environment. And she wasn’t wrong! In the 6 months that I have been here, I have seen tremendous growth in the size of the company but the commitment to maintaining a close-knit environment hasn’t changed at all.
What is your favorite part about working at LJTP?
The best part of working here is the encouragement and genuine support that I receive daily from the management and my coworkers. I have never felt more valued in a job and given the tools to succeed as I have here at LJTP. The atmosphere is always upbeat and incredibly collaborative. Getting to be a part of such a successful, motivating team makes me feel so lucky.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
For me, the most challenging part of the job is having to work within the client’s timetable. It can change from week to week so we have to roll with the ups and downs. Thankfully I know my manager and recruiting partners are there to help and together we figure it out!
How has LJTP helped you grow personally and professionally?
I have gained so much confidence from working here and that has carried over to me feeling better as a wife and as a mom. I am able to balance my family’s needs while gaining recruiting experience in several different industries. The open environment that we have here at LJTP has allowed me to learn so much from colleagues about their best practices and the tools and training resources that we have been given have helped me to be successful in my role as a Sourcing Specialist.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I love to find remote places to camp with my family and my dog and enjoy hiking and being out in nature. I also love to read and see live comedy shows!
