What is your role at LJTP?
Sourcing Specialist – I look for candidates online who have skills matching what the client is looking for. I contact these candidates with the opportunity I have available, presenting them with a company overview as well as the job. For candidates that are interested, I coordinate phone calls between the TAC and the candidate. If I do not receive an answer I will reach out a couple of months later if the req is still open.

What did you do prior to joining LJTP?
Prior to Lucas James, I was an HR Representative at a staffing agency. And prior to that, I did full-cycle recruiting. Before coming to a corporate environment, I worked at Peet’s Coffee and Starbucks as a Manager.

What drew you to LJTP originally? And how has LJTP changed since?
Originally I was drawn to LJTP because of the fully remote role. This is still a huge plus for me being a working Mom, but I would say it has changed that now I want to stay for more than just being remote. I like my coworkers, Management is understanding and wants the best for you, the culture, and the opportunities to come in the future with our growth.

What is your favorite part about working at LJTP?
The work flexibility. That outside of meetings you have the freedom to do your work when you are able as long as you get your work and hours done. As an example, when I worked in an office and my kids had a doctor’s appointment, I had to take the whole afternoon/day off. Now I can take an hour and a half for the appointment and get right back to work.

What is the most challenging part of your job?
The most challenging part of my job is keeping my numbers consistent. Some weeks I am in the top 3 for most phone screens, but then when you get a challenging role or people don’t respond, your number goes down even though you are putting in the same work. This can be hard for me on weeks that I did not hit my mark – worried that people will think I did not put in my hours, not contacting the right people, or not having the right communication to have people respond. As I am sure management knows some weeks are better than others, I feel a ton of pressure on a slow week to meet my expectations. But I know that is all part of having a metrics-based job.

How has LJTP helped you grow personally and professionally?
Joining LJTP has helped me grow personally in making sure that I am taking care of myself and my family first. I love that when I talk to my Managers about personal issues I am having they are really supportive and give me the time I need outside of work to get my life in order. Professionally LJTP changed my life. I was on a break from working when I got this job and was having a hard time finding one that I would not have to go into the office after Covid. With having 2 small children and having moved away from any family in 2020 I needed to be available for my kids, and LJTP made that happen for me.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
When I am not working I am usually with my husband and kids. I enjoy gardening, reading, mostly documentaries. I also spend a lot of time in Missouri with family there.
