What is your role at LJTP (describe in more detail than just the title)?
I work as a Talent Acquisition Consultant here at Lucas James Talent Partners. My responsibility, first and foremost, is to our clients – making sure that I am tentative to their hiring needs. Just to name a few here my day consists of a variety of different tasks from sourcing, screening, submitting candidates to in-take calls for new roles, group meetings to connect on progress updates also consulting with the client to ensure I am properly meeting those hiring needs I mentioned previously.
What did you do prior to joining LJTP?
I have been in the staffing industry for almost a decade now, people are my passion and always have been. I cannot imagine myself in any other career path, the joy I get from helping someone find a position that helps support their family and the satisfaction of assisting my client’s needs by finding them qualified talent who are looking to make a home within their organization that is why I do what I do. It is and always will be about helping people for me.
What drew you to LJTP originally? And how has LJTP changed since?
I was drawn to LJTP by a post on Linkedin, someone mentioned how much they loved the company and had just started with them but know they are different in ways that you must experience to explain fully. I love what I do but of course, it always feels best when working for a company that truly cares about what they do and not just the bottom dollar of profit. I learned very quickly upon starting my current role here that LJTP was not too good to be true and all the praise I read about was that and then some. My life has changed because of the people within this organization who make it what it is, always caring and helpful. Here at LJTP team mentality is number one; that is not always something you find in a workplace. I could say that the freedom of remote work and flexibility is great, and it is but truly and honestly the best part of my job is the people I work for and with they are why I stay because everyone who is part of this amazing company truly loves what they do and cares about the people they work with and that has changed my life more than anything.
What is your favorite part about working at LJTP?
I cannot say this enough, the amazing people I have the pleasure of working with daily are by far my favorite part. In addition to culture, I would say that the variety of positions we fill is a huge plus. I have had the pleasure of working with a couple of different companies that have very different needs based on their book of business. I have learned a lot more since being with this company about different techniques and styles of recruiting/sourcing, job post strategies, etc. Thanks to the help of these amazing people here who always make time for one another.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
The most challenging part of my job is when someone is not picked for a role and having to strategically let them down nicely. I feel it is always difficult to deliver the news that you were not picked for a position. There are so many talented and qualified people but not always multiple spots to fill at the time and that is the hardest most challenging part for me. No matter how I push through and leave everyone who doesn’t make the cut with as much hope as possible.
How has LJTP helped you grow personally and professionally?
Personally, I have more freedom with my family and a load less stress in my life as well. I am never worried about stepping away to take care of my family’s needs here because this company truly cares about the people they employ. I am not just a number in the crowd, I actually matter. Professionally, I have made so many amazing new connections and gained experience working on roles for industries I have always wanted the opportunity to explore. I feel like I have found a home that I never knew existed but always hoped I would find.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Living every moment outside of my responsibility for work is of the utmost importance to me. Time goes faster than we think. I never want to miss an opportunity to experience life. I absolutely love being outdoors whenever I get a chance. I pick new walking paths or rivers to explore. In addition to that, I have fun stopping at local breweries, restaurants, or music venues. These are some things I do with the love of my life and best friend. Often, I am also making plans with my family near and far, from Sunday hangouts to video chats with the ones out of state. I keep myself busy around my home as well I love organizing and cleaning it gives me a peaceful feeling to stay on top of chores so I can think clearly about my surroundings.
